Due to popular demand, United DFC is excited to announce the launch of our new Fall Soccer Skills & Scrimmages program. This program is designed to give young players an age appropriate foundation in soccer fundamentals while providing plenty of time for fun game based play.

Program Overview:

Over the course of five sessions, our experienced coaches will guide players through a comprehensive introduction to the essential skills needed to succeed in soccer. Each session is carefully structured to balance instruction with play, ensuring that players not only learn the basics but also get plenty of opportunities to put their skills into action during scrimmages.

What to Expect:

  1. Skill Development:

   - Dribbling: Players will practice dribbling skills and receive instruction on when to dribble in a game situation.

   - Passing & Receiving: Coaches will teach proper passing technique and provide opportunities for players to practice passing in game-like situations. Players will receive age appropriate guidance as when to dribble and when to pass.

   - Shooting: Players will learn proper shooting technique and get lots of opportunities to practice in game-like situations.

   - Shape: Coaches will reinforce the importance of team shape and teach principles related to shape on offense and defense.

   - Game Awareness: Through guided play, players will begin to understand the flow of the game and the importance of positioning and decision-making.

  1. Scrimmage Time:

   - Each session will include plenty of scrimmage time, where players can put their newly learned skills to the test in a game-like environment.

   - Scrimmages will be structured to emphasize fun and learning, with coaches offering guidance and feedback to help players improve during play.

   - The emphasis during scrimmages will be on applying the skills covered in the session, encouraging creativity, and fostering a love for the game.

   - Coaches may join in games to demonstrate and reinforce the concepts learned during the session.

Why Join?

This program is perfect for young players who are new to soccer or those looking to develop their understanding of the game's basics. By the end of the five sessions, players will have been introduced to a number of soccer skill techniques and  age appropriate game concepts, increased their confidence on the ball, and experienced the fun of playing in real-game situations.

Whether your child is just starting out or wants to build on what they've learned in our summer program, United DFC’s Fall Skills & Scrimmages program offers a supportive and fun environment where they can grow as a player and enjoy the beautiful game.

What if there is bad weather or field closures?

Due to limited scheduling flexibility and weather, we are unable to offer make-up sessions or pro-rated refunds for sessions canceled due to weather or field closures. These circumstances are beyond our control. Our priority is to provide programming whenever we have access to fields and can ensure the safety of our players. In the event of a cancellation, we will notify families ASAP. United DFC will run sessions in wet weather as long as the fields are open and conditions are safe.

Are Uniforms Provided?

Uniforms won’t be provided and are not necessary. Comfortable athletic wear, cleats and shin pads are best. Bring your own water bottle.

**Note for Coaches:**

We’re inviting our summer coaches to bring their children to the Fall Soccer Skills & Scrimmages program for free! It’s a great opportunity for coaching development and a way to show our appreciation. If you're interested, please email Susan Steele, for more details and to register.
