United DFC wins prestigious Sport NS Award
On June 1, UDFC was awarded the very prestigious Community Sport Organization by Sport NS at the Support 4 Sport gala. Club president, Rob Gillis, accepted the award on behalf of all members in front of 600 of the most successful athletes, coaches and volunteers in Nova Scotia. Each Provincial Sport Organization (Soccer NS) selects one club from their membership and submits that club for consideration. From those nominations, the committee selects the Community Sport Organization of the Year. United DFC is extremely proud to share the honour with Annapolis County Athletics. Congratulations to all members. #United
UDFC Spirit Days- Every Wednesday in June
On Wednesdays in June wear your UDFC clothes to school and work. Let’s show our community our #UDFCsprit. Send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be posted on the UDFC Spirit webpage and in our social media or share yourself on your favourite platform and tag UnitedDFC.
Looking for coaches
UDFC is looking for volunteer coaches at the mini level and U18 community boys level. Please email email@example.com if you are considering coaching. Please encourage your friends, co-workers and older children to coach. UDFC values all volunteers. We have many coaches who aren’t parents and welcome anyone willing to give their time and make a difference. UDFC works hard to support its coaches and volunteers. It is a lot of fun coaching the mini program.
Soccer NS #Why I play Contest
Soccer Nova Scotia wants to know why you play soccer! Submit a video for a chance to win a $400 shopping spree at SoccerX or a soccer pizza party at BMOSC.
How to enter contest:
1) Shoot a video telling or showing us why you play soccer!
2) Post your video to social media (Twitter, Instagram or Facebook), use the hashtag #WhyiPlay and tag Soccer Nova Scotia and your soccer club! Click here for details.
How do I know if the fields are closed?
Check the field condition website at https://www.halifax.ca/recreation/facilities-fields/field-conditions
If you are supposed to play on a grass field in HRM and the sport fields are closed – then your game or practice is cancelled. Artificial turf or “all weather fields” rarely close so expect that practices and games on turf will be on even when raining and cold unless the coach cancels.
Online Camp Registration is open.
UDFC Jerseys and Jersey Deposits
UDFC game jerseys will be handed out by your team coach, please have your post dated cheques ready, (if you have not paid online) to receive your jersey.
If you do not have a cheque ready you will be asked to return your jersey to your coach at the end of the game. Coaches will not be responsible for washing jerseys in between games.
Jersey kits have been created based on the jersey sizes requested during registration. Numbers have been assigned to players to accommodate jersey size requests. If sizes are incorrect please come into the office to swap your size. Numbers will not be changed.
