Young and Future coaches – What you need to know- CAFETERIA
Katie Aucoin & Adam Miller – This session is for new coaches and young coaches. This session will focus on what you should know, and have in place, before you start a coaching season regardless of the age/stage you coach. This will include information about coaching pathways and coaching courses as well as what to look for from your club to make sure you enjoy your coaching experience.
Managers Best Practices – ROOM 205
Round table sharing session with Michelle Myers, Shannon Betts and Andrea Bowie –Team managers are a vital link in any successful team. This session will unveil tricks of the trade and give team managers an opportunity to learn from each other’s experience.

Grassroots On-field Session – TURF
Julia Burton & Zach Bauld – Topic: Running and Dribbling. Join Julia and her co-coaches as they run a skills center stations practice to develop running and dribbling with the ball.
Injury Prevention for Athletes – ROOM 205
– Karen Decker – Getting Injured SUCKS! Sport Physiotherapist Karen Decker will share the most common injuries in soccer and ways to prevent them. The session will include the most up to date knowledge on Concussions in Sport and the coach’s and parent’s role in identifying them and returning a player to the game.”

Cindy Tye – Join Cindy as she shares research and her personal experience as it pertains to effective communication in sport.
YogaROOM 204
Beginner Yoga for Participants – Christina Phillips –
A gentle class  focusing on flowing from pose to pose and linking the movement with the breath. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion. Modifications will  be offered to encourage participation of everyone! Bring your own yoga mat.

– Julia Burton, Soccer NS’s Grassroots and Skills Center Coordinator; Adam Miller,
UDFC Director of Soccer & Zach Bauld, UDFC Technical Director – Join Julia, Adam and Zach as they share their best tips and tricks for engaging players and getting and keeping players’ attention.
Nutrition ROOM 205
Kelley Hiltz Sports Dietitian Kelley Hiltz-Cameron will provide a practical overview of the key considerations in fueling for peak performance.  The discussion will include recommendations for daily intake, hydration, game preparation, tournaments and recovery.
Community On-field Session – TURF
Katie Aucoin & Mesut Mert
Join club coach, Katie Aucoin, and UDFC Technical Director, Mesut Mert for a quality, community level session on dribbling and running with the ball.
Life Coach-ROOM 204
Tisha White – Stop “should”-ing on yourself!  How to free yourself from unnecessary stress and start taking charge of your self care. Do you have a running mental list of all the things you “should” be doing?  Do you continually beat yourself up and feel guilty when you don’t get them done?  As women, we have so many internal and external pressures and expectations placed upon us.  In this talk we’ll learn how to begin to shift your mindset and give ourselves options to live beyond the “should” trap.

Inspirational Women in Sport Panel – CAFETERIA
Our day wraps up with a panel of 4 women who have experienced sport at the National and International level. Be inspired by their stories.
Panel includes:
Mary Beth Bowie – former Canadian National Soccer Team Player, NS Sport Hall of Fame Inductee, grassroots soccer coach
Sarah Taylor: Former U-20 National team player, NCAA division 1 athlete, grassroots soccer coach
Dawn Dauphinee: National team Rugby member, spokeswomen for women in Rugby for Rugby Canada, Hall of Fame member
Kirsti Mason: Professional Ringette Player with Atlantic Attack, 2x Canada games player, Canada Games Coach, founder of Rise Ringette camp (empowers young/adolescents girls to be the best person they can be in and outside of the sport)
