Lake City 5's
Lake City 5s - September 5-a-Side Competition
Lake City 5s is a new 5-a-side competition designed to give United DFC players the opportunity to compete, play with teammates, and enjoy a fast-paced tournament environment throughout the month of September.
Players will register individually, and United DFC will create balanced teams for each competition category. There will be no coaching, allowing players to make their own decisions, solve problems on the field, and compete in a fun and competitive environment.
Program Details
- 5 weeks of competition throughout September
- 5-a-side games
- Individual registration - UDFC will place players into teams
- Two 25-minute games per session
- Tuesdays between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM
- All sessions held at East Coast Varsity (ECV)
- Games managed by UDFC staff and/or older UDFC players
- No coaching - players compete and manage the game themselves
- Open to UDFC members only
- $35 per player
- Limited to 42 players per competition category
Competition Categories
Players will compete within the following age groups:
- 2017 & 2018 birth years - mixed together
- 2014, 2015 & 2016 birth years - mixed together
Boys and girls competition structures will remain open based on registration numbers and participation.
Why Lake City 5s?
Lake City 5s is designed to provide players with something different from a traditional training program. With no formal coaching during games, players are encouraged to take ownership, communicate with teammates, make decisions, and compete.
The format provides more game time, more touches on the ball, and more opportunities to compete in a fun and controlled environment.
At the end of the five-week competition, players will have earned more than just game experience, they will have a chance to claim Lake City 5s bragging rights!
