Black Lives Matter

Anti-black racism and systems of oppression continue to pervade our society and create barriers for Black communities and Black athletes. United DFC stands in solidarity with our Black members, the Black community and with the #BlackLivesMatter movement. We also realize that actions speak louder than words.

As a community sports club, we recognize the duty is ours to ensure UDFC is providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, and with that comes accountability. As an organization, our policies and codes must work to support all members equitably. As individual members, it is up to all of us to step up and step in if we see any racist or oppressive behavior.  

As a predominantly white organization, we have privilege that affords us the opportunity to be allies to our players and families who are Black, Indigenous, or Persons of Colour. This includes more learning and raising awareness about historical and present day racism in our society that harms and ultimately holds back Black athletes.

The values outlined in this statement align with our explicit values as a club (About Us). It is the social contract representing what our club is and what it strives to be.
