United DFC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Susan Steele to the part time position of Minis & Community Technical Staff Coach. Susan brings a wealth of experience, passion, and expertise to her role, contributing to the growth and development of our soccer club's community and grassroots programs.

In her capacity as Minis & Community Technical Staff Coach, Susan Steele will report to the Director of Soccer and collaborate closely with the Executive Director, adhering to the best practices established by Canada Soccer and Soccer Nova Scotia. This pivotal role will encompass senior leadership responsibilities within the club, involving effective communication with members and external partners.
Susan's emphasis will be on fostering a collaborative environment, engaging with staff, volunteers, coaches, members, families, and other clubs and organizations. With a strong foundation in planning and communication, she possesses a deep appreciation and understanding for the development of children and youth, encompassing cognitive, social-emotional, and physical aspects. Susan's dedication to enhancing the United DFC Experience is emphasized by her commitment to delivering exceptional programs , particularly at the grassroots and community levels.
As a technical and management position, Susan will focus on enhancing the club's reach and ensuring a best in class experience for players participating in Minis and Community programs. Her multifaceted role involves orchestrating diverse programs spanning various age groups, always maintaining a balance between the best interests of the club, teams, and players.
During the spring and summer, Susan will oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of summer staff, with guidance from the club. She will also take charge of coordinating Minis and Community Programs, further solidifying her role as a pivotal driver of growth and excellence within United DFC.
With Susan's guidance, the United DFC community can anticipate an elevated soccer experience that caters to players of all ages and skill levels, fostering growth, camaraderie, and a deep appreciation for the sport.
