Welcome to United DFC’s weekly Need To Know newsletter. Our aim is to keep you informed about everything that is going on inside the club. Watch for your update every Wednesday.
50/50 Tickets
Get ready for some fun and excitement at the Coaches Classic on December 16, 2024! Be sure to bring some extra cash to take part in the 50/50 ticket raffle, where you could win half of the total pot while supporting a great cause. Donation at Coaches Classic
To help support those in need this holiday season, we’re asking for a small donation of $2 or a non-perishable food item at the Coaches Classic on December 16, 2024. Some of the most needed items are given below. Your generous contribution will make a big difference for local families, and every little bit helps! Thank you for giving back while enjoying a fantastic event!

How much do you know about Safe Sport?
United DFC has policies for Safe Sport, Athlete Protection and our Code of Conduct which can be found on our website. We hope to better educate our members in best practices from our Provincial and National Sports Organizations which make the sporting experience safe for all.
This week, we highlight one of the most commonly heard of Safe Sport guidelines in the Rule of Two. Read about this guidance from our National Sports Organizations which mandates safe interactions for players and coaches.”
Holiday Closure
December 20th is the last day for training sessions before the holiday break except for BMO soccer center. BMO sessions run until 22nd. We are back to practice on January 3 (for school gyms) and January 5 (for ECV and BMO) .
Cheque Distribution Changes
The postal strike impacts our ability to mail cheques as usual. Starting December 5th all cheques typically sent to club members, coaches/teams, and/or staff via Canada Post will be available for pick-up the United DFC office during regular business hours.
The United DFC office will notify you by email to let you know that a cheque is available for pick-up. Urgent, time-sensitive, or external cheques and documents will be sent via FedEx.

School gym will be closed for the following dates and practices will be canceled on these dates:
Seaside Elementary: December 4,5,18,19
Ross Road: December 11th
Ellenvale: December 4th
Dartmouth South Academy: Dec 9, 11
Safe Space Teen Kick Around
United DFC Soccer is pleased to bring back our unique Safe Space program designed for teenagers to come together and enjoy soccer with friends. Safe Space Soccer fosters inclusivity regardless of gender, experience, or skill level. Whether a seasoned player or new to soccer, everyone is invited to join in this inclusive and gender-neutral environment. Our program creates a welcoming space where youth can freely engage in kick-around soccer, free from judgement or gender-related constraints. Join us once a week for camaraderie, skill-building, and pure soccer enjoyment. This is a kick around session supervised by staff.

When: Wednesdays, 7:35-9 pm Nov 27, Dec 11, Jan 8/15/22/29, February 5/12/19/26
Ages: 12-15 - any gender, any level - beginners welcome

Coaches Classic is Back!
Join us for the 2nd annual Coaches Classic, where UnitedDFC takes on Suburban FC Coaches and Volunteers in a friendly yet competitive match for a great cause! This exciting event will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the BMO Soccer Field from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. All funds raised from the event will go directly to Feed NS, supporting those in need within our community. UDFC's greatest strength is its community. The club is actively looking for Sponsors or Partners to help reduce the cost of delivering - or enhancing - programs. Gear Collection
We are currently accepting new or gently used gear at our office that you no longer need. Any gear dropped off will be offered to any members who are in need. We will accept cleats, shin pads, gently used socks, shorts, training shirts, jerseys (GK jerseys too!) , tracksuits, hoodies, etc. as long as it is still in good condition.
